Lia Farley is walking through a tree-lined park, wearing a Panama hat and olive green jacket, blond hair flowing as sunglasses dangle from her T-shirt collar.
And she’s singing.
Ford CEO Jim Farley tweeted his wife’s music video on Sunday.
“My wife, Lia has been keeping busy with her band, Winding Road. Check out this fun video, share if you like it,” he wrote.
In the clip, which runs for 4 minutes, 20 seconds, images include a family wearing face masks that suggest a COVID-19 quarantine, news clips of world leaders and then a beautiful open sky that cuts to musicians playing outdoors under the sun.
Parts of the video were shot in Kensington Gardens in the heart of London, where the band is based. Farley, while lead singer, also plays acoustic and electric guitar. The video features bandmates Richard Kluth on lead guitar, Ed Palmer on drums, Mark Foster on bass and Nick Losseff on keyboards.
Words accompanying the video, which is posted on YouTube, say: “Another lockdown effort from Winding Road.” Musicians are socially distanced.
Their cover of The Beatles’ 1969 Abbey Road album classic inspired likes and retweets:
- “Needed message right now. Thanks and great cover,” tweeted @jhalkias, past president of the Ohio School Boards Association.
- “It has a melancholy pace. Beautifully relevant,” tweeted @realjesseboen.
- “She has quite a voice!” tweeted @GlennStevens, executive director of MICHauto.
- “Fun video indeed,” said @C_T_Lakshmanan, a top executive at Tech Mahindra, as he retweeted the video to his thousands of Twitter followers.
- “… better days ahead for sure! @jimfarley98 I was waiting for your cameo appearance!” said race car driver Bob Tasca III @tasca3, who retweeted the video to his 19,300 Twitter followers.
In one segment of the music video, Lia is pictured with daughter Lilly.
“I am so proud of Lia and her music, she is the talent in the family,” Farley, 58, told the Free Press early Monday.
